Katrina B speaks at The Lower Eastside Girls Club “Money Matters” Panel
The WGRL program at the Lower Eastside Girls Club hosted a Money Matters panel for aspiring young girls looking to get into the field of digital audio and entertainment.
The panel consisted of ten professionals in the arts and entertainment fields ranging from mixing engineers, lawyers, business managers, producers, music writers and journalists.
The purpose of the panel was to give insight to the unlimited possibilities of career choices and options for young girls interested in pursuing a career in this field.
Whether it was writing, producing or being behind the scenes, every panel member intricately gave a glimpse of what they contribute as an artist or to an artist or project in a vivid discussion while showcasing their work.
Katrina B, producer of Nessa’s show at HOT97, spoke about her experience as a Producer and DJ.
“After graduating college and DJing for my college station, I interned for a local radio station in San Francisco.” It’s not easy she says, “you really have to wear many hats when entering this field, I learned how to be on air, produce a show and editing audio and videos and understanding the pre-production process of an interview,” says Katrina.
Afterwards, Katrina B Dj’ed while the girls ate their lunches and had a dance party afterwards.
