Ahhh, when one of my favorite makeup brands came out with some brow products, I was super stoked to try it out! ColourPop is the makeup world’s latest and greatest obsession, mainly because it’s extremely affordable and most of the products are 100% vegan! Such an LA type of thing to do, right?! I first came across ColourPop when they launched their ultra matte lip products. Not long after, they began expanding into a larger realm of beauty products.
They’ve got lip products, eyeshadows, bronzers/blushes, and now – eyebrow products in cream-type form and pencil form! Prior to getting the products, I thought it was going to be comparable to Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow. To my surprise, it was creamier rather than waxy. The ABH Dipbrow that I normally use has a pomade consistency, so I was a little hesitant about how long the product would last.
When applying the ColourPop brow colour (cream-like product), I advise starting with a little product, and then building it up. Because it is creamier, the product goes on pretty smoothly. It’s also extremely pigmented, so a little goes a long way! Tip: use a synthetic eyebrow brush – the synthetic bristles will pick up the brow product a lot better than other brushes.
The brow pencil is a little bit thinner than what I’d prefer, thinner than the ABH Brow Wiz, but it does apply pretty smoothly as well. It also comes with a brow brush on the other end – useful for coming your product through your brow hah
Here’s a pic of the color spectrum below! Majority of the colors have a cool-tone finish, with a few colors being warm-toned. I have dark, dark brown hair, and the best brow color match for me was Black n’ Brown and/or Bangin’ Brunette for the middle and end of my brows, and then I used the Dope Taupe brow pencil to fill in the first third of my brows.
The product surprisingly lasted all day for me – though to be fair, I wasn’t out in the sun all day or anything. I didn’t have to touch it up nor did I have to set it with anything. So I will say I’m pretty impressed with the product overall. And for only $5, I think it’s a pretty good deal. Definitely recommend testing it out.
A ColourPop tutorial is definitely on the way – so stay tuned! In the meantime, be sure to check out their other products on ColourPop.com, and follow on IG for more beauty inspo! Let us know what other types of tutorials you’d like to see! #NessaOnAir
